The EKG Technician program prepares the student to operate the electrocardiogram equipment used to diagnose and monitor patient’s heart conditions. The student learns how to interpret the data and evaluate the results. The courses include training in medical terminology; cardiac anatomy and physiology; medical safety procedures, proper placement of electrodes; and how to assist the patient during the procedures. Job opportunities are in doctor’s offices, clinical labs, and hospitals.
