The Pharmacy Technician program is designed to provide students with the knowledge needed to assist licensed pharmacists in providing medications and other non-prescription products. The graduate of the Pharmacy Technician program will be able to assist the pharmacist by counting tablets and preparing labels for prescriptions while verifying the information is correct, keeping patient files current, filing insurance claims, and taking inventory of medications.
Courteous and helpful customer service is included. The Pharmacy Technician program prepares the student for employment as a pharmacy technician in a retail pharmacy, a hospital or clinic pharmacy, or a mail order pharmacy.
